Bryan Fischer, host of a radio show, the director of Issues Analysis for the American family Association said that all Americans have a patriotic duty towards worshipping God. Fischer uttered these words while explaining why the U.S. economy was “in a slump” with the help of the Old Testament Book of Haggai.

The host explained how the people of Hebrew prophet Haggai suffered and their economy too was in a slump because they refused to build the house of God and stopped worshipping Him.

“The spirit of God quickens the spirit of the governor,” cited Fischer, focusing then on the role of a political figure, a ruler who could ensure that people worshipped under his government.

If you want a prosperous economy, you’ve got to have a vibrant spirituality,” he said. “When you worship God, you are not just doing the right thing in terms of your relationship with God, you are doing your patriotic duty.”

He added, “It is your patriotic duty to worship God in order that we have a prosperous and flourishing economy.”

Bryan Fischer is known for his views opposing abortion, national health care, environmentalism, gay adoption, and same-sex marriage. Many of his statements made on his radio show make news because of their highly controversial elements.

Last year, after the tragic shooting incident of Sandy Hook Elementary School, Fischer said that god didn't stop Connecticut school shooting because he’s a “gentleman” who doesn't go where he is not wanted.

He received quite a lot of backlash but it didn’t stop him. Fischer has made several other scandalous comments after that as well some of which you can find here.

Watch him talk about the US economy and the House of God in the video above.
