School Bus Driver Charged With Student Rape Yet Won't Serve Jail Time

A Tennessee bus driver pleaded guilty this week to raping a teenage girl, yet he will not serve time in prison for his heinous crime.

A bus driver employed with Durham School Services abused his power as a public service employee.

Alexander Rodriguez, 34, pleaded guilty to raping a 15-year-old student and was originally sentenced to serve four years in prison.

News Channel 9 reported that his sentence was suspended, and instead of jail time, he will have to serve a full 10 years of probation as a sex offender and wear a GPS ankle monitor.

The innocent victim was a passenger on Rodriguez’s bus when she then went into his personal car and was taken to a hotel where he raped her, according to Times Free Press.

Before raping her, Rodriguez allegedly forced the girl to perform oral sex on him.

The 15-year-old repeatedly said “no” to him and that it hurt, but it only fueled Rodriguez’s horny behavior when he told her, “I’m trying to make it hurt.”

After news broke of the shocking rape, Rodriguez was suspended without pay from his job.

Molly Hart, a national spokeswoman for Durham School Services, said, “We are taking this matter very seriously and are working with the school district and local law enforcement to investigate this incident.”

Despite his “get out of jail free” card, the teenager’s legal guardians have filed a $10 million lawsuit against Rodriguez for irreparable damage, emotional trauma, and lost wages.

It’s truly despicable that students may now lose trust in their bus drivers to get them to their destination safely.
