Authorities in Morgan Hill were searching for Sierra Lamar, 15, who has been missing from the Santa Clara County community since Friday.

Searchers spent the weekend looking for the girl. On Saturday, the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Department announced that her cellphone had been discovered not far from her home, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

Sierra was last seen Friday morning before school, and officials said her last text was sent about 6:30 or 7 a.m. that day, according to the Morgan Hill Times.

She never showed up for school at Sobrato High.

“It is devastating for me any time we have a student who might be in any type of dangerous situation,”

Principal Debbie Padilla said at a press conference.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is urged to call the sheriff at (408) 808-4431.
