For those who are into rustic and off-the-beaten path travel, then behold: There's a place to visit in Tibet that officially became a city, according to English.news.cn.
The new city, which has already been a popular place to visit for quite some time, is called Nyingchi, will be the fourth prefecture-level city in Tibet. It was just approved by the China State Council.
Nyingchi is located in southeastern Tibet, up in the mountains at 3,100 meters altitude. However, it is still one of the lowest points in the region, and has a nice climate for those who like warm weather.

Nyingchi has also been very popular among tourists in recent years. In 2014, 2.8 million people came to check out the city.
The new city will remain as it was before, with no new government officials being sent to the area.
Some cool things to check out in Nyingchi are the Yarlung Zangbo river, several mountains and waterfalls, ancient temples, and beautiful nature reserves.
Who knows what else there will be to see once the city starts getting established.
