Bill and Hillary Clinton’s DaughterChelsea Clintonvisited Myanmar to promote safe drinking water awareness with the P&G Children's Safe Drinking Water Program.
Her trip marked the sixth billionth liter of potable water purified under the auspices of the Children's Safe Drinking Water Program, founded by global consumer goods giant Proctor & Gamble.
The program provides communities without access to clean drinking water with special P&G brand purifying powder.
Each packet can filter up to 10 liters of water.
Over 71 countries have benefited from the easy-to-use packets, saving an estimated 32,000 lives, according to USAID.
According to USAID, 2,000 children die every day from illnesses caused by unsafe water around the world.
