A warehouse in Chicago froze when the firefighters doused it with water giving it an eerie ice sculpture look.
Firefighters on the south side of Chicago rushed to the scene of a massive warehouse fire earlier this week, but it wasn’t the fire which made the story, but rather the appearance of the warehouse which, because of sub-zero temperatures, looked like an ice sculpture. The fire fighters worked throughout the night to put the blaze out, but the negative 12 degrees C temperature immediately made the water freeze.
By morning, the warehouse looked like a giant ice sculpture.
According to the firemen, the building is now at risk of collapsing."It's a matter of safety because obviously on Ashland Avenue, with a building that high, we have the potential for the building to collapse onto Ashland Avenue,” said head fire fighter.
Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire-- the biggest in the city in the past seven years.
