David Wildstein, a former Chris Christie appointee to the Port Authority, dropped a potential bombshell today on the Christie Administration.
David Wildstein, Chris Christie’s Port Authority appointee who orchestrated the bridge-gate scandal, claims that Christie knew about the lane closings while they were happening, and that he can prove it, according to the New York Times.
Wildstein, who has since resigned from his post at the Port Authority over the bridge scandal, released a statement through his lawyer saying that, “evidence exists as well tying Mr. Christie to having knowledge of the lane closures, during the period when the lanes were closed, contrary to what the governor stated publicly in a two-hour press conference.”
The statement also said that, “Mr. Wildstein contests the accuracy of various statements that the governor made about him and he can prove the inaccuracy of some.”
It remains to be seen what David Wildstein reveals, but the longtime Christie aide and ally has officially turned on the New Jersey governor. If any of what Wildstein says is true, Christie is done as a presidential contender. At this rate, Christie may be lucky to serve out his second term as New Jersey governor.
