MSNBC host Chris Hayes slammed The O’Reilly Factor host for extremely racist rant on Tuesday.
Bill O’Reilly has been delivering frequent anti-black community statements on his popular television talk show lately. The highly controversial statement is garnering criticism from almost every other commentator and people in general.
O’Reilly had said, “When was the last time you saw a public service ad telling young black girls to avoid becoming pregnant Has President Obama done such an ad? How about [Jessie] Jackson or [Al] Sharpton? Has the Congressional Black Caucus demanded an ad like that? How about the PC pundits who work for NBC News?”
Chris Hayes said that O’Reilly’s comments could be easily debunked with about 20 minutes of Googling.
“That’s not really the point," said Hayes. “The real reason Bill O’Reilly peddles this stuff is because it gives a cheap, crack-like high to the old fearful white audience that watches Bill O’Reilly and gives Fox News its power, also known as the Republican base. These are the folks Bill O’Reilly is feeding when he laments not being able to criticize black culture.”
“If Bill O’Reilly is representative of white culture, with his stereotyping and his victim-blaming and domineering tone, then I’m pretty sure we need to start having a national conversation about the problems with white culture.”
It’s a very good thing that people are finally condemning O’Reilly’s vicious remarks. It’s time that the conservative host understood that he belongs to the world of journalism and it shouldn’t be racist at all.
