Hours after 24-year-old gunman James Holmes, dressed as the Joker, kicked open an emergency-exit door in Colorado Movie Theater and show 12 people, Twitter had already started making jokes about the tragic incident.
One of the jokesters was Playboy model Tricia Evans aka @HollywoodTricia. Not only are the jokes too soon, they are the furthest thing from humor according to Canadian producer Deadmau5 -- formally known as Joel Zimmerman. Tricia while commenting about the incident tweeted:
Deadmau5 who previously followed Tricia quickly responded by tweeting:
Even though the controversial tweeter tried to defend her opinion, but deadmau5 was in no mood to accept any of her excuses. Since her heated interaction with the producer the playboy model tweeted a slew of messages that she received regarding her joke about the Colorado shooting.
She also retweeted many of them, some of which went to the extent of giving her death threats. On the other hand deadmau5 who is known for his candidness on Twitter could only express sorrow and grief over the harrowing event.
It is important to mention here that social media users have responded forcefully to anyone who intends to make fun of the horrifying incident on social networking websites.
An incident testifying this occurred on Friday when Celeb Boutique, a U.K. based retailer, posted a tweet in response to the trending hashtag #Aurora. The tweet, which has since been removed, read: "#Aurora is trending, clearly about our Kim K inspired #Aurora dress ;)" Celeb Boutique was criticized for their insensitive comment and had to offer an apology in response.
The Aurora shooting in Colorado claimed 12 innocent lives when mad man James Holmes opened fire in the theater during the Dark Knight Rises Screening. An investigation is currently underway.
