The Democratic Party reacted to Paul Ryan’s all-white intern selfie and recently created their own as a diverse group.

Paul Ryan’s recent #sowhite selfie with his interns caused such a stir throughout the nation that it prompted one group to start a selfie war.

The Democratic Party felt so offended by the lack of diversity in Paul Ryan’s group photo that they decided to retaliate and tweet out their own colorful selfie, The Hill reported.

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) recently tweeted out the diverse photo that went viral of the Democratic interns with the hashtag #DemInternSelfie.

“[Speaker Ryan], in this day & age, there’s no excuse for not having diverse staff & interns,” Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Calif.) tweeted.

Xavier Becerra (D-Calif.), the House Democratic Conference Chairman followed Jackson’s lead and posted a photo on Twitter of his own group of diverse interns.

“Thank you to all my hard working #CapitolHill interns! We had a great group this summer. #BecerraSelfie,” he tweeted.

Paul Ryan’s white selfie proves that yet another Republican is blind when it comes to bringing people together from different races.
