Canadian police arrested a 24-year-old ‘Grinch’ for the worst holiday crime of all: telling children Santa Claus didn’t exist.
During the annual Santa Claus parade held in Kingston, Ontario, the man, who police say was heavily drunk, began shouting at children and parents that Santa Claus was nothing more than an exaggerated parental hoax. The unidentified man was described as a ‘Grinch’ by the police on their official Twitter feed.
Arrested an intoxicated Grinch for trying to yell at kids that Santa's not real! So misinformed. His heart must be many sizes too small!— Kingston Police (@KingstonPolice) November 17, 2012
According to Kingston Constable Steve Koopman, the ‘Grinch’ had gelled hair that ‘looked like a set of devil horns protruding from his head.’
However, the man after spending a night in jail was released on bail under the condition that he would avoid alcohol until his trial.
