Did The White House Release A Fake Photo Of Obama Skeet Shooting?

Did the White House release a fake photo of Obama skeet shooting? We have a photo, we have fake, but do we have White House?

The internet got all in a kerfuffle over a photo of President Obama skeet shooting. Asked by the New Republic if he had ever shot a gun, Obama replied, “Yes, in fact, up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time.”

Shortly after, this photo was circulating the internet from this url (notice the whitehouse.gov part): http://whitehouse.gov1.info/camp-david/camp-david-skeet.jpg:

Alright, looks good...except now look at these two:

Identical backgrounds! The real tell-tale sign is the identical tree-branches. Obama's image was supposedly photoshopped in from a picture from this day:

Asked if he had seen a photo of Obama skeet shooting, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said, no, he had not. Not exactly proof, but all taken together, somewhat damning, no? Did the White House really doctor a photo so that Obama could appear to be down with guns? What the hell is going on here?

The answer, the site that produced the photo, is...wait for it...a parody website.

So, the internet had some fun. Have to wonder how many people still think that either 1) the photo is real or 2) the White House faked the photo. Neither is true.
