Does George Galloway’s Accusation Of Israel Supporting The Syrian Regime’s Use Of Deadly Gas Carry Any Weight?

George Galloway is vocally anti-Israel and usually has his six pence of worth for an opinion on everything and anything to do with Islam, Muslims and the Arabs- Or anti-West for that matter!

So it was only a matter of time before he spoke up about the atrocities taking place in Syria in the name of a civil war.

His response to the recent alleged chemical weapons attackin Syria was titillating to put it mildly.

He was very particular in saying that “if there has been any use of sarin gas, it was radical Islamist group al-Qaida. “

 “Here’s my theory,” he added, “Israel gave them the chemical weapons.”

The fact that the Syrian regime chose to use the deadly gas right at the time of the arrival of a UN chemical weapons inspection team, does not sit well with him as well!

The Syria-Israel-US Nexus!

In Washington, several emergency meetings have been held in the Oval Office resulting in warnings of severe action.  President Obama considers the unfortunate incident a ‘big event of grave concern’ and assures that his country is ‘in communications with the entire international community’. He has been mum however, as far as finger pointing at Israel is concerned.

On the other hand, several Israeli ministers are asking U.S. to respond to the attack in Syria. Benjamin Netanyahu has also stated that the “situation cannot continue.”  As a senior Syrian opposition official who wanted to remain anonymous told Ynet that "If Israel wants to prove it has good intentions toward the Syrian people it must urge the international community to intervene in Syria."

The friction between Syria and Israel has been a long one, and neither pretends to wish the other well. But though Israel expects U.S. strike on Syria it does not fear a direct impact on itself. 

Now whether Israel becomes the target of a retribution attack from Syria and its allies, specifically Iran and Hezbollah remains to be seen. However,
