Dominique Strauss-Kahn, who is accused of attempting to rape a maid at an upscale New York City hotel is on suicide watch in his own wing at Rikers Island. According to the London Evening Standard, Stauss- Kahn may need to undergo an HIV test following the claims that his alleged victim may be a carrier of the disease.

The 32 year-old alleged sexual assault victim of Strauss-Kahn and her 15 year-old daughter live in a Bronx apartment block that is run by Harlem Community AIDS United. The woman, who is an immigrant from Guinea, West Africa lives in this complex which only houses adults with either HIV or AIDS.

The woman said that Strauss-Kahn forced her to perform oral sex on him twice and then tried to rape her as she cleaned the Sofitel hotel room in Times Square. Strauss-Kahn denies all charges.

According to Gretchen Carlson on Fox News this morning, the maids in the hotel are taught to leave the room doors open while cleaning the rooms. This would be done by propping an object against the door. With the electronic key card system, they would be able to tell if the alleged victim did prop the door open while embarking on cleaning the room.

This would help in the evidence needed against Strauss-Krauss if he were to say the sex was consensual. According to ABC News, his lawyer said yesterday that he believes the evidence “will not be consistent with a forcible encounter.” Which may mean they are going for the sex was consensual defense.

On the heals of these charges against Strauss-Kahn, women have been coming forth and telling their stories about his inappropriate sexual behaviors in the past. According to the London Evening Standard, one European journalist, who is known as Martina, alleged that this MIF leader offered to give her an exclusive interview in exchange for sex. She said he was insistent that she sleep with him to be granted an interview.PARIS, FRANCE - MAY 16: Newspapers with coverage of the U.S. arrest of Dominique Strauss-Kahn, managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on May 16, 2011 in Paris, France.
