According to Mohammed Shtayyeh, a Palestinian economist, "The attack on Gaza this time had no precedent. Gaza has been hit with a catastrophe and it needs immediate help because many things can't wait long.”
The UN Agency for Refugees revealed in a report that more than 60,000 people of Gaza were in improvised refugee camps because they had nowhere else to go after their homes, hospitals, schools, mosques and even their power generation plants were destroyed by Israeli air strikes.

Before the July offensive by Israel, an estimated 10,000 Palestinians had fled Gaza in 2014 and the numbers have increased since.
