Dylann Roof's Sister's Failed Attempt To Crowdfund Her Wedding

Her special day was rudely canceled by a horrific act of violence, so she turned to the internet for some cash for a wedding.

Her wedding was canceled because her brother committed horrible acts of violence, racism and hatred, resulting in the death of 9 people in Charleston, South Carolina. There's no better way to mend all of those difficult, tough feelings than to ask for some cash.

Amber Roof started a GoFundMe to raise money for a new wedding and a great honeymoon.

"As many of you know Michael and I had to abruptly cancel our wedding day, due to the tragedy that occurred in Charleston. June 21st was suppose to be the happiest day of our lives," reads the Gofundme page, which has now been taken down.

It's perfectly understandable that someone would to have a second go at a wedding after a first was canceled, but people across the internet were appalled by her insensitivity towards the shooting, and that she pledged to give only 10% of her $5,000 to Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church. That comes out to $500. Generous.

The page has since been taken down, but a cached version of the page shows she raised $1,520 in 4 days. Not all of her donors were sympathetic.

Her crowdfunding days seem to be over for now.
