The smell of burnt plastic and a report of smoke sent firefighters scrambling to a plane parked at a Sea-Tac Airport gate Wednesday afternoon.
An airport spokesman told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News that Southwest Flight 1112 was about to take off for Salt Lake City and on to Phoenix when passengers deplaned and firefighters were called.
Perry Cooper said firefighters found some haze and the burnt plastic smell but no sign of fire.
Responding firefighters reported seeing haze coming from a vent at the rear of the plane near the tail on the starboard side.
Video from Chopper 7 showed fire engines by the Boeing 737 at gate B12.
The Chopper 7 video showed no sign of fire. Crews could be seen taking baggage off of the aircraft.
