Religiously speaking, a Fatwa is a juristic ruling issued by an Islamic scholar concerning the Islamic law and its implementation. The person who issues a fatw? is called, in that respect, a mufti, i.e. an issuer of fatwa. However, what most people don’t know is that a fatwa may be non-binding.
Most Muslims argue that anyone trained in Islamic law may give an opinion, which might translate into a fatwa, on the Islamic teachings. So pretty much any Muslim “scholar” can create a fatwa, a religious based on their interpretation of the Quran.
However, something has changed in the past few years and there are too many muftis giving away too many fatwas, so much so that matter has become open to much ridicule. Well, we might hasten to add, it is not without cause.
What we have in the list below is first of all, not a joke. They’re all real and they have been issued by people who call themselves authority on the Islamic law. But what they also are is very very bizarre. Here are the top 5 fatwas that will end up freaking you out!
FIVE FATWAS THAT WILL FREAK YOU OUT!
Breastfeeding Co-workers To Be Allowed To Work In The Same Office
When responding to an issue regarding the permissibility of women to work with a man in an organizational setting in 2007 Dr. Izzat Atiya, a lecturer at Cairo's al-Azhar University raised eyebrows when he said that woman must breastfeed the man ‘AT LEAST 5 TIMES’ just to reveal her hair in front of the male.
In his opinion, with the help of breastfeeding males would become their family members and, "A woman at work can take off the veil or reveal her hair in front of someone whom she breastfed." The resulting outrage and public cry that followed the fatwa forced Egypt’s religious minister to jump in and ban fatwas that are incompatible with human rationality.

The fatwa released by Malaysian National Fatwa Council states that such girls have high self esteem since they show least respect to Islamic values.
4 War On Mickey Mouse, He Must Die
He may have survived the battles faced in Fantasia, but Mickey Mouse has been a constant source of wrath of religious clerics. Saudi cleric, Sheikh Muhammad Al-Munajid has openly declared war with the globally acclaimed Walt Disney character by dubbing him as a ‘soldier of Satan’.
The cleric’s fury was not just restricted to Mickey, but also included Tom and Jerry. Salman Rushdie was already topping the list.
