Former CIA Director David Petraeus spoke publicly for the first time since stepping down from the CIA in November 2012 over an extra-marital affair at an event honoring University of Southern California veterans and Reserve Officers' Training Corps students.

This was his first public speech since the scandal. The former general's talk mostly focused on the problems veterans face when returning from war.

The sex scandal involved Petraeus and his biographer, Paula Broadwell, an Army reserve intelligence officer who is also married.
