Five fraternity brothers were arrested after "beating a man within an inch of his life." Their disturbing mug shots show that they hold absolutely no remorse for their awful crime.

Five fraternity brothers — Tucker Steil, James Basile, Christian Guy, Kyle Hughes, and Austin Rice  — were arrested shortly after "beating a man within an inch of his life." Their disturbingly happy mug shots show they hold absolutely no remorse for their awful crime.

Local news reports that the alleged attack occurred on the front lawn of another fraternity, Stigma Pi, on October 6. One of the Stigma Pi fraternity brothers, Jeremy Boyle, said he went to investigate when he "heard a noise outside," and was then “jumped by five Pi Kappa Alpha members.”

The Daily Mississippian reports that the victim sustained many injuries, including a “concussion, several broken teeth, a ruptured eardrum and a lung contusion.”

“They descended upon him and beat him unmercifully. Beat him within an inch of his life," the victim’s grandfather, Robert Boyle, told WFLA.

According to The Mississippian, the charges go as follows:

Tucker Cole Steil, a general studies major and Pi Kappa Alpha, was arrested on a felony-level charge of assault. James Declan Basile, a business student, was arrested on charges of assault, hazing and larceny. Christian Guy and Kyle Hughes, business majors, were arrested on charges of larceny. Austin Rice, engineering major, was arrested on charges of larceny as well.

The Pi Kappa Alpha chapter president, Gunthur Kenudston, told WLFA that "those were the actions of individuals, and the actions were not connected to fraternity business."

The motive remains unknown.
