Reuters accidentally published an obituary for a person who is actually alive!
Hungarian-American businessman and philanthropist George Soros on Thursday was dead for a while according to the international news agency. Epic reporting fail!
A red-faced Reuters took down the published obit after thirty minutes but as we all know; when something is out there on the internet, it’s out there. Thanks to Facebook and more importantly Twitter!
A screen grab of George Soros’ premature obituary is available on different websites including Slate. Have a look at it:
Reuter later apologized for the error:

But then an apology isn’t enough sometimes for such mistakes. At least not for the Twitterati!
