As per Today’s Zaman, two behavioral scientists and an expert on cinema and television productions will study the character from books and movies to form an opinion whether it was a an evil character and the alleged resemblance is an insult to the president

The judge took the decision after admitting he had not seen the movies in which Gollum features.

Ciftci reportedly was forced to give up his medical practice because of the joke. In the memes, the president is showed eating and behaving in the ways similar to those of Gollum.

Ciftci claims he didn’t insult the president as Gollum was not a villainous character.

This year in May two kids were arrested in Diyarbakir for allegedly tearing down posters with president’s face on them. What was even more outlandish was the fact how their actions were not even politically motivated.

Turkey may have a democratically elected government but insulting the president is a crime in Turkey punishable by time in prison.
