More than half of the prisoners being held at Guantanamo Bay are now on hunger strike, according to US military officials.
 
A military spokesman said 84 prisoners - out of a total prison population of 166 - have been classified as hunger strikers at the military base in Cuba. The strike, which began with a handful of prisoners in February, comes as a protest against their indefinite confinement on the island nation.
