Oh, Florida Gun Supply. You make other hypocrites look tame by comparison.
Andy Hallinan, the owner of the aforementioned gun store in Inverness, Florida, doesn’t like Muslim people. He’ll tell you it’s not about racism, that he just doesn’t want to:
“arm and train those who wish to do harm to my fellow patriots”
But the sheer, ugly weight of prejudice required to make such a statement possible exposes him.
He doesn’t want to support people who want to harm his fellow patriots.
As is there’s no such thing as a Muslim American patriot.
As if all Muslims are answerable for the actions of a terrorist minority.
And as if no person of a religion besides Islam has ever had the blood of a fellow American on their hands.

Like George Zimmerman, for instance, the Catholic man who shot and killed an unarmed black teenager, Trayvon Martin. We imagine Hallinan wouldn’t group Zimmerman under the category of those who do or wish to do harm to his fellow patriots, given the fact that that his gun shop is receiving the proceeds from Zimmerman’s new side-gig.
What’s Zimmerman selling? Oh, just prints of a hand-painted Confederate flag, emblazoned with the slogan “the 2nd protects our 1st.”
Because what’s a better symbol of love and camaraderie between patriots than the emblem of the slave-owning half of the American Civil War?
Most ironic is Zimmerman’s defense of his painting:
“You cannot assume everyone who flies a Confederate Flag is racist in the same way that you cannot judge every Muslim to be a terrorist.”
Uh, did you tell your friend Hallinan that, guy? There seems to be a disconnect between your bigotries.
