A man armed with a gun stormed into studios of the national broadcaster of the Netherlands, demanding airtime to “tell his story.”
The unidentified person was immediately arrested. However, his motives are still unknown because it’s unclear what he wanted to say on-air.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported and the police later revealed the gun was a fake.
A video of the incident shows him walking frantically around the studio, warning that “the things that are going to be said (pause) those are very large world affairs.”
The police also found a letter on him – an unverified copy of which aired on RTL news channel. It says:
“Eight high explosives have been planted that contain radioactive material. If you don't take me to studio 8 to make my broadcast, we will be forced to step into action. Realize that I am not on my own.”
Officials are now looking into the case and interrogating the man, who could be charged with possession of a firearm, threatening people with a weapon and kidnapping.
