New Delhi: Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan found himself in an uncomfortable situation on Saturday as 26/11 terror attacks mastermind and Jamaat-ud-Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed appealed to the Indian superstar to leave India in favour of Pakistan if he was being persecuted because of his faith.

“Shahrukh Khan Should come to Pakistan if he is being persecuted for his faith;Islam. We will welcome him with an open-heart, Insha'Allah,” read a tweet on the official account of Hafiz Saeed.

The 47-year old actor had raised some eyebrows recently after he had confessed in a self-written piece for Outlook Turning Points magazine that he had been the ‘target of some politicians as he was a Muslim’.

"I sometimes become the inadvertent object of political leaders who choose to make me a symbol of all that they think is wrong and unpatriotic about Muslims in India," Shahrukh had written.
