Hazmat Team Called to IRS Building in Utah

FARR WEST -- Hazmat crews were called to an Internal Revenue Service building in Weber County Monday morning, and now the FBI is looking into a possible threat inside. The incident began around 11:00 a.m. when a suspicious substance was found in the building at 1973 N. Rulon White Blvd. Shortly thereafter, at least two people were pulled out of the building on stretchers.

Monday morning around 11 am, a hazardous materials (hazmat) crew was called to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) building located in Farr West, Utah just north of Ogden. The city is located approximately 35 miles north of Salt Lake City, Utah.

ABC 4 said that a suspicious substance was found in the IRS building, and that parts of the building were evacuated and other areas were on lock down.

Emergency vehicles were located outside the building throughout the parking lot. Two people were removed from the building on stretchers. Medical personnel who assisted the two people were not wearing masks.

The IRS building is located at 1973 N. Rulon White Blvd. in Farr West, Utah. Any calls to the IRS building have been forwarded to the FBI. The IRS building does not have signage stating that it is an IRS building. No other details have been released.
