Before her Tuesday meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem, the one advice German chancellor Angela Merkel's must have gotten from her advisers is not to mention a certain Mr. Adolf Hitler.

The former military dictator was at the centre of the Holocaust in which approximately six million Jews were systematically murdered in Nazi Germany, so obviously there was nothing to be gained from discussing him.

While Merkel steered clear of the topic, her Israeli counterpart accidentally did something which made her look like none other than Hitler himself.

What happened is that Netanyahu was harmlessly pointing in a direction, but the shadow of his finger fell on Merkel's philtrum from such a perfect angle that it formed Hitler's famous toothbrush mustache.

Since it was a press conference, a bunch of cameras were on hand to capture the moment. The lucky man who snapped the picture was the Jerusalem Post photographer Marc Israel Sellem – who soon posted the picture online, and it didn't take long for it to go viral.
