Earlier in April this year, three men were deported from Saudi Arabia who had come from United Arab Emirates to attend the annual Jenadrivah Heritage & Cultural Festival in Riyadh.
They were evicted because they were ‘too handsome’. Seriously, it is not a joke.
“A festival official said the three Emiratis were taken out on the grounds they are too handsome and that the Commission [for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vices] members feared female visitors could fall for them.”
Basically, the men were deported because the religious police in Saudi Arabia feared that they might cause disruption among the female audiences with their good looks. This is yet another piece of absurdity coming from the Saudi authorities.
People on Twitter have their own views regarding the whole matter and even they agree that one of the three Emiratis was truly very handsome and kicking him out was probably legitimate:
