A 12-year-old boy died when he was struck by a pickup truck driven by his older sister, who was picking him up from school.

McKensie Maleckie, 18, allegedly lost control of her vehicle as she turned the corner in front of Cameron Brenneman’s middle school Wednesday.

She slammed into another truck, then ricocheted off that vehicle, hitting Brenneman before she crashed into a utility pole,

About 30 students waiting outside Ormond Beach Middle School in Ormond, Fla., watched the accident, the station reported.

Brenneman was reportedly standing a few feet from the truck when he was hit.

“She got out of the truck and she went and grabbed Cameron and picked him up,” said Nick Gugger, one of Brenneman’s classmates.

The 12-year-old was rushed to Halifax Hospital in Daytona, where he was pronounced dead, Central Florida News 13 reported.

Police have not said how Maleckie lost control, and are still investigating details of the accident.

Grief counselors will be at the middle school to help students cope with Brenneman’s death.

“I cried for maybe an hour,” Gugger said. “I don’t think I’ll ever forget that.”
