It is not unheard of for young children to get killed at the hands of terrorists, but the reason behind the latest killing is astonishing even by their standards. Apparently, a terrorist group called "The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) stoned a teenage girl in Rakka, Syria to death for the heinous crime of signing up on Facebook.
Even crazier is the fact that it wasn't an isolated or passion-driven act of one lunatic mind. The fatal treatment handed to the young girl was a planned act and actually committed by the backing of the local Al-Reqqa religious court.
The judge, after listening to the girl's membership of the social networking website, ruled that her act was just as bad as committing adultery – something which carries with itself an automatic death penalty in that crazed part of the world.
ISIL is an armed resistance group that primarily operates against Shias in Iraq and Syria. This is the second time this week they have made news for the wrong reasons. A few days ago, one of their suicide bombing instructors accidently triggered a suicide bomb and ended up killing himself as well as the 21 pupils he had been teaching.
