Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman has called for harsher punishments for the Arabs who don’t support Israel’s policies despite living in its territory. Addressing an election rally in the western city of Herzliya, the politician even threatened to “chop off” their heads with an axe.

“Those with us should receive everything,” he said. “Those against us, it cannot be helped, we must lift up an axe and behead them – otherwise we will not survive here.”

Lieberman, also the head of Israel’s Yisrael Beytenu party, made these remarks ahead of the upcoming general elections.

“Israeli citizens who raise a black flag on Nakba day – from my perspective, they should get out of here,” he added, proposing a land swaps plan in which Arabs would be handed over to the Palestinian Authority in exchange for more territories in which Israel could expand its settlements.

This is not the first time that the politician has demanded such measures.

In fact, Lieberman has repeatedly asked for punishing the “disloyal” Arabs living in the occupied territories whom he refers to as “terrorists” for expressing solidarity with the Palestinians.

Speaking at the campaign event, he also reiterated his call for a regional peace agreement with the Palestinians, brokered by neighboring Arab states.
