Kellyanne Conway has been under fire for her comments ever since she took charge as President Donald Trump’s senior adviser. This time she landed herself into yet another controversy by promoting Ivanka Trump’s brand on television.
Conway faced backlash not only from journalists and ethics watchdogs, but this time she was slammed by the first daughter, Ivanka Trump, who “scolded” her for promoting her brand from the White House. A source close to Trump said that his daughter chastised Conway for “dragging her brand into an ethics mess” and told her not to mention it again on TV.
Soon after the interview, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said that Conway has been “counseled” after she made the comments. However, she tweeted that she had the president’s support.
POTUS supports me, and millions of Americans support him & his agenda. https://t.co/FTaPXTymGV— Kellyanne Conway (@KellyannePolls) February 10, 2017
Conway’s comments of “go buy Ivanka’s stuff” came soon after Nordstrom dropped Trump-branded products from its stores because of poor sales.

The president’s top adviser’s comments sparked ethics debate because under the federal law public employees are barred from making an endorsement of any product with whom the employee is affiliated in a nongovernmental capacity.
Conway’s comments also drew outrage on Twitter.
White House the QVC for Ivanka merchandise? Is this new normal to tolerate conflict of interest? K Conway "go buy Ivankas stuff". Wow— Susie Fisher (@Sfisherpdx) February 9, 2017

Oh sure. I really need some overpriced knockoff stilettos.
It’s not just Conway. Trump also faced backlash after he took to Twitter to rant and attack Nordstrom for dropping his daughter’s clothing line.
My daughter Ivanka has been treated so unfairly by @Nordstrom. She is a great person -- always pushing me to do the right thing! Terrible!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 8, 2017
The president’s tweet supporting his daughter outraged people.
.@realDonaldTrump Man you're so unbelievabubble!!— AlyaaGad AfhamTV???? (@AlyaaGad) February 9, 2017
This is not the first controversy that the first daughter had to face. Recently, Ivanka Trump was maligned after she ignored the havoc and suffering caused by the Muslim travel ban and shared a picture donning a $5,000 dress.
