More details are emerging about the Tsarnaev brothers and the attack at the Boston Marathon that they carried out a week ago. We now know that they stayed at the Boston Marathon to watch their bombs go off. Once that happened, Tamerlan and Dzhokhar "Jahar" Tsarnaev walked away "casually" according to FBI officials. It's possible that their demeanor was a clue to agents who studied video of the bombing: they were probably the only people in the video who acted like the explosions were expected.
It's one more detail in the steadily developing profile of these two brothers and the act of terrorism they carried out. Andrew Glasby, a classmate of Jahar's said he spoke to him the evening after the bombings, and that Jahar acted completely normal and even offered to give him a ride home in the car that would later be used in a chase with the police. Glasby told ABC News:
“I thought as it was just regular old Jahar. We had a typical conversation, he was not startled, he was not scared, he was not anything. He was just the same old Jahar,” Glasby said.
While Tamerlan seems less social, and less integrated into American life, Jahar is a real mystery. From those that knew him, he seemed like a really normal kid, more interested in getting high than anything political. From these details, however, he sounds at peace with what he did, or covering for any inner anguish very well.
