Exasperated Journalist Calls Terrorism Experts 'Frauds' On Live TV

Finally someone has the guts to call a spade a spade.

Journalist Jeremy Scahill blasted CNN, Fox and MSNBC for their coverage of the Paris terrorist attacks while talking to Hala Gorani of CNN International.

Talking of shoddy journalism, he said CNN and its cable rivals kept bringing on “frauds” who profess to be terror experts and that cable news is “inflating” the Paris attacks to a degree “much beyond the actual threat that they pose to our societies.”

“CNN and MSNBC and Fox are engaging in the terrorism expert industrial complex, where you have people on as paid analysts that are largely frauds who have made a lot of money off of portraying themselves as terror experts and have no actual on-the-ground experience,” he said.

His words ring true. Journalism over the years has degraded to ridiculous levels as far as ratings and sensationalism is concerned. With claims like Birmingham being a Muslim-only city to New York Stock Exchange being flooded when it was nothing of the sort,  more often than not journalism ethics are swept to the side in favor of ratings and clicks.

It’s refreshing to see someone finally voicing the disgust so openly.
