Jim Carrey Takes An Extreme Stance On Vaccines

The "Dumb and Dumber" actor says the governor of California is a corporate fascist to allow "poisoning more children with mercury and aluminum."

Actor Jim Carrey has made several absurdly fallacious statements about vaccines in the past but this rant takes the cake.

Referring to a new legislation signed by California Gov. Jerry Brown, under which parents will no longer be able to exempt their children from vaccines on the basis of religious or personal beliefs, the Dumb and Dumber actor said:

Carrey went on to says the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention cannot solve a problem they “helped start,” adding the nation’s leading public health institute is too timid and “corrupt” to admit that they have been wrong about mercury/thiomersal.

Predictably, the actor is being criticized for his criticism of vaccines:

In 2009, Carrey wrote a controversial blog against vaccinations, which, according to Slate’s Phil Plait had “so much wrong in it that it almost qualifies as self-satirizing.”
