Living in a world with Fox News would be a lot less bearable without Jon Stewart.

Living in a world with Fox News would be a lot less bearable without Jon Stewart. Fox News is on their now annual ardent defense of Christmas which has zero substance but high ratings. Or I assume it has high ratings. It’s also possible that Roger Ailes emerges from his lair every November and announces the beginning of the fiery defense of Christmas.

This week, Megyn Kelly kicked it up a notch on the whole Fox News saves Christmas thing with her assertion that Santa Claus is white. And so is Jesus.

One Fox News pundit backs her up by saying that Santa Claus is based on Saint Nicholas, who was from Greece (making him a lot less white than say, Megyn Kelly). For Kelly herself, it’s not clear if she is talking about the skin color of Saint Nicholas or Santa Claus, but it seems like she’s talking about Santa Claus. To her, this is a bigger deal than Rudolf having a red nose or…I don’t know, it’s not entirely clear why she cares. Or on what authority this is based on. If Coca-Cola ads from the 30s are your best source then you might want to rethink your position.

Oh, and Jesus is white too? Must have been rough being an abnormally light-skinned person in that part of the world. It’s surprising he got anyone to listen to him. Dude must have looked like a freak.
