A Korean Airlines passenger jet carrying 115 people overshot the runway on arrival at Japan's Niigata Airport on Monday, Japan's Transport Ministry said.

Korean Airlines Flight 763, a Boeing 737-900 airliner, passed beyond the airport's runway at about 1940 local time on a flight from Seoul's Incheon International Airport.

The front of the aircraft came to a stop on a grass verge beyond the end of the runway.

No injuries were reported by the 106 passengers and nine crew who had been on board, Niigata airport said.
