Krispy Kreme UK certainly knows how to get attention on social media, even if it’s not always the right kind of attention – such as when they make an advertising fail for “KKK Wednesday” on their Facebook page.
Apparently no one at Krispy Kreme realized that in the U.S. KKK is shorthand for the Ku Klux Klan, who are infamous for their hatred against minorities.
The donut slingers wanted to promote "Krispy Kreme Klub Wednesdays."

Here is the advertisement that was posted on their Facebook page.
It has since been removed and Krispy Kreme issued an official apology.
"Krispy Kreme apologizes unreservedly for the inappropriate name of a customer promotion at one of our stores," a spokeswoman for Krispy Kreme told the Guardian.
"This promotion was never intended to cause offense. All material has been withdrawn and an internal investigation is currently underway."
“We don't have a new name for the event yet," one employee said. "But it is still going ahead this week."
Hopefully this mishap can melt away just like their donuts melt in our mouths.
