His doping admission shocked not only fans but longtime friends like Matthew McConaughey as well. McConaughey, a fellow Texan and athlete talked to MTV Newsabout Armstrong’s confession over the weekend at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, where the actor was promoting his movie Mud.

"My first reaction was I was pi**ed off. I was mad. I then got kind of sad for him. First off, I had a part of me that took it kind of personally, which I think a lot of people have."  Matthew McConaughey and Lance Armstrong have been friends for years, so it's natural that McConaughey's first reaction was anger.

Sheryl Crow, Armstrong’s ex-fiancée also briefly discussed  about Armstrong’s confession when she appeared on ‘Entertainment Tonight’. Crow said, "I felt bad. I felt bad for him, I felt bad for his family and I kind of felt like the rest of America. He is a hero we watched and looked up to and admire."
