Pediatrician Melvin Morse, known for research into near-death experiences, is now being accused of waterboarding his 11-year-old daughter.

Waterboarding is a form of torture in which water is poured over the face of an immobilized captive, thus causing the individual to experience the sensation of drowning. It has been used for centuries as a form of torture. However, In January 2009 President Barack Obama banned its use.

The 58-year-old doctor along with his wife Pauline was arrested on charges of conspiracy and endangering the welfare of a child.

Morse and his wife were released on bail and will be arraigned in the next few weeks.
