When 39-year-old father, Torkel Kristoffers, decided to grow out his beard, he probably never thought it would get him arrested.
But, that’s what happened when his neighbors saw him playing in his yard with his son and didn’t recognize his new facial hair. According to The Independent, while Mr. Kristoffers was playing with his two-year-old son, the boy asked to be carried in a grocery bag (canvass, not plastic). To his neighbors, this looked extremely suspicious, prompting them to call the police.
It went so far that Mr. Kristoffers was actually arrested, though he was released shortly. A policewoman confirmed the error, saying: “It is currently not a crime to carry a child around in a bag.” Though, by the way that sounds, maybe it should be?
Fortunately, the whole thing ended well, and Mr. Kristoffers was even able to joke about it on his Facebook page. And next time he gets the urge to grow out his beard, he should probably notify his neighbors.
