Apparently a supposed Saudi princess has claimed that she is so wealthy she has spent almost £1million on perfume in the past two months.
The curious case of the self-proclaimed ‘princess’ Sara Al Amoudi emerged on the news scene when she was caught ‘swindling’ with two London property developers.
Since this case appears to be a big scam, here is what you need to know about the mysterious Sara Al Amoudi:
She Says She Is A Saudi Princess:
According to the statement given by Al Amoudi, she is an estranged wife of King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia. She alleged that she was having an affair with Mr. Ian Paton, a property developer in London who then conned her for her ‘pocket money,’ some £5million. She said that she was a genuine royal family member and that she had to leave her country because she was having an adulterous relationship.
She also tried to prove her wealth by saying, “I’m afraid I’m addicted to spending money, and get through enormous amounts of cash. I can easily spend £50,000 to £100,000 in one spree.”
The accused reportedly arrived at the London court in a Rolls Royce, clad in a burqa and wearing a full-face veil. While she maintains that she is royalty and is not involved in any swindling, Mr. Paton, the victim has something else to say.
Witness And Victims Say She Is A One-Time Penniless Ethiopian Prostitute:
According to Mr. Paton and his lover, who is also the second property developer, Miss Amanda Clutterbuck, Al Amoudi swindled both of them out of luxury flats worth £14million.
Also, a witness named Negat Ali, an Ethiopia-born south London furniture dealer, recognized Al Amoudi from one of the pictures posted in Daily Mail. Ali said that the accused woman was not a princess but was a former prostitute from Ethiopia.
