After two months of uncertainty about her whereabouts, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un’s wife Ri Sol-Ju made her first public appearance. Her mysterious disappearance from the public eye sparked speculations about her pregnancy and also fueled suggestions about her inappropriate conduct.
Ri Sol-Ju recently made her appearance at a concert with her husband Kim where she was welcomed warmly by the audience. According to South Korea’s National intelligence service, the concert was organized to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Kim Il-sung Military University.
Earlier, South Korean Intelligence raised the possibility that Ri faced complaints from elders for her western style dressing sense. “The analysis has been that there was concern over breach of discipline (by Ri) among North Korean elders, plus the speculation of pregnancy," South Korean Intelligence reported.
However, according to some sources, Ri was doing penance for failing to wear lapel pin that features the face of country’s ruler and is compulsory for all adult North Korean women to wear.
Kim Jong-un’s public appearance with Ri strike a strong contrast with his father, who avoided public appearances with his wives.
