Speaking about the pardoned turkey Harris-Perry said that Obama "has been reluctant to use his pardoning power for humans.” The point Melissa wanted to establish that the president must also consider some pardoning for people also.

Obama has just pardoned 2 percent of applicants during his first term which comes around 1 in 47 who applied, making his the lowest pardon rate of any of the past five presidents.

During the show she also showed various cases of those seeking pardons, but has so far been denied.
