National Voter Registration Day: How And Why

Women's rights, environmental protections and the minimum wage are just a few things voting has implemented.

Today is National Voter Registration Day. It's the largest one day effort to register voters. 

In 2008, 6 million Americans didn't vote because they missed a registration deadline or didn't know how to register.

Today, volunteers, celebrities, and organizations from all over the country will "hit the streets" to spread the word and sign up voters. 

Below is a list of several reasons you should register to have your voice heard at the polls.
