This café in India can easily qualify as one of the creepiest places on the planet.
As if being erected on an old cemetery wasn’t eerie enough, restaurant owner Krishnan Kutti chose to preserve the coffins and place tables around them at his eatery in the city of Ahmedabad in western India.
The graves are reportedly the tombs of Sufi poets and saints from the time of the Mughal Empire that extended over a large part of the Indian subcontinent from 1526 to 1857.
Taking the rich history into account, Krishnan refused to demolish the remnants of the Muslim cemetery and decided to place the graves in his café - "New Lucky Hotel” – sealing them off with iron grills.
The unique restaurant serves Indian cuisine to over 300 customers daily and has around 22 tombs nestled between wooden tables and chairs.
According to the owner, the graves bring good luck to his business.
“I am not aware who was laid to rest here but I know that they are very lucky for me and the visitors," Kutti told Reuters in 2007.
