A new report claims global warming could place one-quarter of New York City - an area now home to 800,000 people - into a flood zone by the 2050s.
 
The study, commissioned by the city, also says climate change could bring New York's temperatures in line with those of the notoriously sweaty city of Birmingham, Alabama.
