New York City commuters feel a sense of relief as limited subway service resumes after Hurricane Sandy. The lights are back on in New York's Subway system. At least partially. For the system's 5 million riders each weekday ... any good news is a relief.

Four of the seven subway tunnels remain flooded and there is still no service in Manhattan below 34th Street.

But for New Yorkers hearing the rumble of subway trains for the first time in four days, it points to one sign of recovery from Sandy's devastating blow.
