The tiny, reclusive kingdom of North Korea is known for issuing big threats that it can never hope to follow through on.
Kim Jong-un’s regime recently released a video titled “Last Chance,” showing a nuclear strike on Washington, D.C. The footage also features a graphical illustration of missile crashing near the Lincoln Memorial.
The propaganda video, which garnered more than a million views on YouTube, shows a United States flag engulfed in flames. It also highlights numerous “humiliating defeats” of the U.S. by North Korea by paying special attention to the capture of U.S. spy ship Pueblo in 1968.
A statement, “If U.S. imperialists budge an inch towards us, we will immediately hit them with nuclear (weapon),” flashes up in Korean during the video.
“The United States must choose! It’s up to you whether the nation called the United States exists on this planet or not,” the video continues.
The open threats from North Korean leader Kim Jong-un come as no surprise since the tensions between North Korea and the U.S. have been on the rise, which have also led to a number of sanctions by America and the United Nations.
Moreover, this is not the first time the hermit kingdom has issued a threat against Washington or pledged to attack South Korea. Tensions between the two countries have been escalating since Pyongyang initiated its fourth nuclear test in January.
